It’s PARTY time
What comes before Part B? PART- AYYYYYYY. Yes that’s right. When I party, I eat party sandwiches. What are party sandwiches you may ask? They are known by many names, “tea sandwiches” or “finger sandwiches”. That may sound familiar to you, but their true soul and identity is the mighty “party sandwich”.
Party sandwiches are often filled with various fillings. Tuna, egg salad, pb&j, cucumber and butter, salmon, the list can go on and on. They are my fave little snack, so bite sized, delicious, and moist. My favorite ones hail from our neighbors to the north, Les Canadians, but I made my own tonight. Because I am ready to party.
So here, ladies and gents, is a photographic journey through the making of the greatest snack in the world.
Enjoy!
First I chopped up some old school tuna salad and egg salad. Feel free to mix it up. (I just added mayo- other condiments to add to the mix would include chives, hot paprika, dijon mustard, etc)
Then, I lightly buttered 8 slices of white/wonder bread and 8 slices of whole wheat bread.
Spoon your fillings on to the bread, spreading evenly.
Close the filled bread slices with another slice. I mismatched each sandwich, pairing a whole wheat slice with a white slice. Then I covered the sandwiches (8 in total) with damp paper towels (you may use real dish towels). Covered the paper towel sandwich combo and placed in the fridge for 1 hour.
Remove from fridge and cut off crusts of bread. Then slice your cute sandwich squares into 4 slices.
STARE AT THEM WITH ADORING EYES, DROOL, AND DEVOUR.
